Hi Carla Bosteder,

Your latest post on Best Career Strategies, caught my eye. “Unemployed Are More Optimistic” is a great piece for your readers. You have a high quality site with fantastic content.

I noticed that you do allow guest writers to contribute to your blog, and I was wondering if we could include a column.

I work on behalf of a leading college resource website that contribute articles to sites and blogs. All of the articles are high quality and customized, so if there is a topic you would like the writers to focus on, I would be glad to arrange that for you. We are hoping to include a link or two to the website in the byline, so please let me know if that works for you. We are happy to follow any guidelines that you have set.

Let me know what you think.

Thanks! I will be looking forward to hearing back from you.

Hello!

I was wondering if you accept guest posts on Best Career Strategies Blog?

I'm part of a business that does high-end brand placements worked into guest posts on a variety of subjects. My posts don't advocate or review our clients, rather they are well written informational and/or newsy posts that your blog followers will find interesting. The articles are between 350 to 800 words in length, of unique content that will only be published on your blog, and includes one do-follow reference link to one of our clients, (none of whom relate to the no-no categories like Pills, Poker, & Porn).

If you don't accept guest posts I also can make deals for sponsored articles that you'd be compensated for and have complete editorial control over. The article guidelines are similar to what's mentioned above. After we submit the article, you retain complete editorial control of the article and can make any edits necessary before publishing it.

Please let me know if accepting a Guest Post or Sponsored Post is something you'd be interested in and if so, how much would you want me to pay?

Thanks,

Nicolas Gallego

P.S. If there are any other blogs you manage that would be open to accepting guest post or sponsored articles I’d be interested in checking them out.

Bonnie, this video was really helpful. Our organization has a plan to educate the community and assist them with how to create a successful resume and cover letter. Also prepare them for the interview process. I look forward to utilizing the teaching tools and material that are provided.

Hey all- another hilarious christmas video here! Thought you might be interested in this little Xmas comic relief:
http://www.youtube.com/profile?user=breakthruradiotv&annotation_id=annotation_691366&feature=iv

It's from BreakThru Radio, an internet radio station featuring new music of all kinds, great videos with live music, and other cool articles. This is just a little tidbit from the Barnyard Boys Christmas Spectacular! It's pretty hilarious in all it's sparkly-vested glory. Hope you like it!

Happy Holidays!

@Brian -- Thank you. I'm not an official "Third Triber" but I'm a fan and follower of the founders. Thanks for pointing out the need for a very visible "Contact" feature -- I put it in my main navigation menu. I know that not requiring people to opt-in to download the free report is a big marketing no-no, but I think it's nice to make free stuff COMPLETELY free once in a while. I have a decent-sized (and growing) list already (from another website, same niche). Oh -- Sorry I dropped the ball and didn't reply sooner!

@Edward and Steve -- I agree. I was willing to give WOT the benefit of the doubt, but I kept seeing more abuse. I was trying to counter unfair negative reviews & ratings of sites I visit by posting good ones, but I can't overcome the numbers of clueless followers of abusers, so it was a battle I could never win. And the more this happened, the more upset and frustrated I got about WOT being totally out of control and doing the opposite of what it's intended to do. Because I don't LIKE being upset and frustrated, I finally disabled the WOT plug-in on my browser. The terrorists have won.

Yes, They did the same to me.
One person disagreed with a product I sell, posted a huge list of sites who sell it, and all sites were arbitrarily rated as having phishing and malware etc.

I also went to the source, and pretty much called them net nazis and asked who they were to censor, rather than rate honestly.

They were not very happy with me I'm afraid. I wasn't rude, just persistent.... I tried to get them to see that what was going on wasn't in the spirit in which this service was created.

Yea... WOT is a nice idea, but more like a "ring of corruption" than a "web of trust". There is no safeguard to prevent individuals or companies from attacking competitors, rivals or just sites with philosophies they don't agree with.

WOT is stupid, and I wouldn't trust anything they say, based on my own experience. In reality, they protect you from nothing, and prevent you from seeing a lot of good things.

Take it from a former Government employee now in the private sector but trying to get back into the Government.

If the position you're applying for is a Federal Government position, then you can pretty much count on what would be considered a normal timeframe for processing taking TWICE as long!

That would be nice. Your approach also fits with my desire to be more authentically myself as I live the "60 is the new 40."

Hi Bonnie,

Very nice site you have here. I came across it as I was researching the job interview tips niche. I have to ask, "Are you a Third Triber?" I hope you are but if not you should check out thirdtribemarketing.com.

I looked for a contact form but couldn't find anything so feel free to delete this comment...it wont make much sense to your readers. Also, I love your free report but you should have an email opt-in for that...start building your list!

I would love to chat about your experiences online. It is always nice to stumble upon a moral marketer.

Good luck to you!

Hello there,
This is basically where i stand. Finished university with a History degree 2 years ago, but a local transportation service was recruiting, so i fell into that a few days after graduation. This job bear in mind, did not require a degree, and i sort of just floated about in this for 14months.

Now that i have left that job, my veil of complacency has faded, and for the first time i find myself with dread about what i am going to do with my degree career wise.

Post grad study is an option i guess, but what course is another matter. I am 24 already and feel like i have wasted the last few years. Whatever my course of action is, i am unlikely to be in a good position in whatever path is take for another couple of years.

At the same time though, the dilemma stands that do i really want a mega paid job, over one i really enjoy. Seems all too easy to be drawn into the rat race, while similarly i dont feel as if there is any rodent in my blood. Journalism looks like an ideal job, but the appeal of sitting down and writing your thoughts has made it such a competitive market that even Journalism graduates find trouble getting work. I've pretty much marked this down as a pipe dream.

From a practical point of view, getting my teaching license for a year and going into secondary school teaching would yield sound financial results. With the state of things Uk is crying out for more teachers, and with good reason, kids are becoming less respectful. Is this what i would really want to subject myself to for money?

At the present, i am back working in a supermarket i did during my high school years, they are completely aware of my dilemma and are happy for me to leave at any time when i decide what i want to do.

The main factor holding me back in all honesty is the fear of trying for what i really want and failing, and having to live with that failure whilst employed somewhere i hate. For this reason a few motivational blogs or past stories go down a treat. I think i've grasped the concept that the only way to achieve anything is to throw yourself into it wholeheartedly, but i'm equally aware this leaves you open to a massive degree of hurt if it doesnt work out. Oh well.

To answer some of your other points, online blogs offering advice wind me up because it's very rarely nuggets of wisdom over general musings that anyone can think up themselves.

How long have i been reading your newsletter or blog? ; i literally read the paragraph at the top of this page and decided to write my piece. Will i continue to? Most likely.

What a silly silly thing this "competency base interview" is!
Say I'm a secretary looking for another job, what am I going to reply to the question "Tell us when you overcame a challenge and how you did it"? What am I applying for, the prime minister job? For Pete's sake, the selection process has spiralled out of control. Secretary: typing, answering phones, filing, writing letters, diary management. What challenges are they talking about????
Besides, fraudsters and liars are always very good at this kind of things as they pretend to be what they are not. Therefore, you have a high risk of hiring some lazy and arrogant idiot, who happened to be very good at interviews. And that's exactly what you deserve!
I hate when they ask me questions like: tell us why you make a good team-worker. Everybody knows the game and answers the same, so why would I want to work for some idiot who wants to employ a brain-dead clone?
Think about it employers: it works both ways.
